Missing a dear neighbour, Janet, who was Marlow born and bred, loved her town, and knew its history better than anyone. ‘Marlow is a village that thinks it’s a town’, she once told me) As well as her library career and more recent remarkable work as a local historian, Janet also spent years as carer to her parents living in the bungalow her father built for his family. It is in that role I first knew her, and she is to be greatly admired for the way she rose to that challenge. A life cut short by recent illness RIP dear Janet x

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
